Cincinnati, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cincinnati Reds announced Thursday that the team has agreed to terms with outfielder Chris Heisey on a contract for the 2014 season.

Financial terms were not disclosed, though ESPN.com reported the one-year deal to be worth $1.76 million.

Heisey, eligible for salary arbitration for the first time, batted .237 with nine home runs and 23 RBI in 87 games with the Reds last season. Since being promoted to the majors by Cincinnati in 2010, the 29-year-old has hit .254 with 42 homers and 125 RBI over 424 games.

The Reds have five other players who filed for arbitration this offseason, a group that includes starting pitchers Homer Bailey and Mike Leake and closer Aroldis Chapman.
