Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Arizona Diamondbacks acquired right- handed relief pitcher Addison Reed from the Chicago White Sox on Monday in exchange for infielder Matt Davidson.

Reed set career highs in wins, saves, appearances, innings and strikeouts in 2013, going 5-4 with a 3.79 earned run average, 40 saves and 72 strikeouts in 71 1/3 innings over 68 games with the White Sox.

A third-round pick of Chicago in 2010, Reed, who turns 25 on Dec. 27, has compiled an 8-6 record with a 4.17 ERA and 69 saves in 136 games over three seasons, all with the White Sox.

Davidson, 22, made his big league debut last season with the Diamondbacks and hit .237 with six doubles, three home runs and 12 RBI in 31 games. He was selected 35th overall by Arizona in 2009.
