Cubs send Lillibridge to Yankees

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - The Chicago Cubs traded infielder/outfielder Brent Lillibridge to the New York Yankees for cash or a player to be named later.

Lillibridge, who has played most of the season with Triple-A Iowa, went 1- for-24 in nine games with the Cubs this season. He hit .281 with five home runs and 13 RBI in 48 games with Iowa.

The 29-year-old has a career .207 average with 19 home runs in 347 games over his six-year major league career.
