St. Petersburg, FL (Sports Network) - The Boston Red Sox will activate pitcher Clay Buchholz off the 60-day disabled list Tuesday, as the right-hander will start his club's game against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Buchholz has been sidelined since early June with shoulder and neck issues.

Prior to being injured, he was having the most successful season of his seven- year career, posting a perfect 9-0 record with 81 strikeouts and a 1.71 ERA over 12 starts.

He was selected to his second All-Star Game, but hasn't taken the mound since a start against the Angels on June 8.
