Mississippi Valley State to play six at home

Itta Bena, MS (Sports Network) - Mississippi Valley State football will kick off its 11-game 2013 schedule against Florida A&M in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge and play six home games, the Southwestern Athletic Conference university announced Wednesday.

The Delta Devils will appear in the MEAC/SWAC Challenge, to be held Sept. 1 at the Florida Citrus Bowl in Orlando, for the first time.

MVSU's home games at Rice-Totten Stadium will be against Division II Delta State (Sept. 7) as well as SWAC opponents Southern (Sept. 21), Jackson State (Oct. 12), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (Oct. 26, Homecoming), Texas Southern (Nov. 9) and Alabama State (Nov. 16).

The Delta Devils hope to build off a 5-6 record last year.
