Buies Creek, NC (Sports Network) - Campbell University's first-ever game against an FBS opponent will have a lot of familiarity to FCS fans.

Campbell, from the non-scholarship Pioneer Football League, will play at Appalachian State on Sept. 6, 2014 at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

The game will occur one week after ASU makes its FBS debut at Michigan. The Mountaineers, who were three-time FCS national champions from 2005-07, are in their final season in the Southern Conference this year.

Said Campbell coach Mike Minter: "Appalachian State is a great program with a great tradition of success. This is another step for our program as it continues to advance and grow."

Campbell also will host Charlotte and visits Charleston Southern in non-league games in 2014.
