Hawaii answered back with a 33-yard field goal by Tyler Hadden, but then the hosts took control with 16 unanswered points to close out the half.

Nick Diaz knocked through a 40-yard field goal attempt, DeMartino reached the end zone on a four-yard run, Diaz chipped in a 32-yard field goal and Jake Thompson delivered on a 52-yard field goal for the Aggies as they carried a 23-3 advantage into the break.

Diaz nailed a 32-yard field goal at the 9:51 mark of the third, followed by a 30-yard TD pass from Garretson to Travis Reynolds. The USU defense then got in on the action as Kyler Fackrell picked off a pass and returned it 99 yards for a score with less than two minutes left in the third frame.

Garretson added a 44-yard pass to Wyatt Houston with 10:29 left in the game.
