Recap: Ole Miss vs. Troy

Oxford, MS (SportsNetwork.com) - Bo Wallace threw for three touchdowns and ran for one more, as the Ole Miss Rebels notched a 51-21 win over the Troy Trojans in non-conference play from Vaught-Hemingway Stadium.

All told, the Rebels (7-3) piled up a school-record 751 yards of total offense en route to their season-best fourth straight victory. Wallace threw for 272 yards and also ran for a game-high 66. Jaylen Walton ran for 62 yards and a TD in addition to tallying 81 receiving yards and another score. Laquon Treadwell caught a pair of touchdown passes and finished with a team-high four catches.

The Trojans (5-6) suffered their third consecutive loss, despite 258 yards passing by Corey Robinson and a game-high 133 yards receiving by Chandler Worthy. With the setback, they will need to beat Texas State in the regular- season finale on Nov. 29 in order to become bowl eligible for the first time since 2010.

Ole Miss got the scoring started less than five minutes into the game on Wallace's 25-yard touchdown pass to Treadwell.

Troy answered with a three-play scoring drive, which ended with Brandon Burks' five-yard touchdown run.

However, it was virtually all Rebels the rest of the way. Walton capped a 10- play, 68-yard drive with a four-yard TD run to make it a 13-7 game. Andrew Ritter's PAT was blocked, however.

The Ole Miss defense forced a three-and-out on the next possession, and Wallace capitalized on the ensuing series with a 23-yard scoring strike to Treadwell, the duo's second touchdown connection of the day.

Wallace accounted for the only points of the second quarter with a 29-yard TD scamper to send the Rebels into the locker room with a 27-7 halftime lead.

The hosts continued to pad their lead in the third quarter. Following a 19- yard field goal by Ritter, Ole Miss made it a 37-7 game on backup quarterback Barry Brunetti's 43-yard touchdown pass to Walton. Wallace was not quite done yet, as he tossed a 24-yard scoring strike to Quincy Adeboyejo at the 4:39 mark of the third quarter to further extend the lead.

Mark Dodson scored the Rebels' final touchdown on a one-yard run in the fourth quarter. The Trojans added a pair of two-yard touchdown runs in the final frame (Jordan Chunn, Daron White) with the game well out of reach.

While the Ole Miss offense enjoyed a historic day, the defense bottled up Troy's ground game to minus-13 yards rushing for the game.
