Recap: Oklahoma State vs. TCU

Stillwater, OK (Sports Network) - Wes Lunt threw for 324 yards and a touchdown to help lead the Oklahoma State Cowboys to an impressive 36-14 win over the TCU Horned Frogs in Big 12 Conference action at Boone Pickens Stadium.

Lunt, who started in place of an injured J.W. Walsh, completed 18-of-33 passes and was intercepted once as the Cowboys (5-2, 3-1 Big 12) won their third game in a row and the fourth in the last five outings. Josh Stewart reeled in six passes for a game-high 120 yards and Joseph Randle posted a game-high 126 yards rushing, leading to one score, on 32 attempts.

The Horned Frogs (5-3, 2-3) were paced by Trevone Boykin who hit on 21-of-40 passes for 185 yards and a score, but was picked off once and sacked two times on the afternoon. Matt Brown converted three of his four pass attempts for another 38 yards, but he too tossed an interception as the team suffered a second straight loss and the third in the last four contests.

TCU actually moved out to a 14-0 lead in the first quarter thanks to an 11- yard interception return for a touchdown by Elisha Olabode, followed by an 18- yard TD toss from Boykin to LaDarius Brown.

OSU kicker Quinn Sharp then began his assault on the Horned Frogs with three consecutive field goals from 22, 34 and 30 yards out in order to cut the deficit to 14-9 at the break.

In the second half Jeremy Smith found the end zone on a one-yard run for the Cowboys, followed by a Lunt to Charlie Moore 20-yard touchdown pass to give the hosts a 23-14 advantage.

Sharp then knocked through field goals of 32 and 27 yards in the fourth quarter and Randle finished off TCU with a one-yard TD run in the final minutes to give the home team a comfortable 22-point victory.

TCU's offense struggled the entire day, finishing just 2-of-14 on third down, in addition to the team being flagged for 10 penalties for 80 yards.

The five made field goals by Sharp, who was 10-of-15 in that department heading into the weekend, are a career high.
