Morgantown, WV (Sports Network) - West Virginia running back Andrew Buie, the team's leading rusher last season, has reportedly left the university.

West Virginia officials confirmed to the Charleston Gazette that Buie, who rushed for 851 yards and seven touchdowns in 2012, withdrew from school.

Dana Holgorsen said Thursday night on a radio call-in show that Buie was withdrawing from school only for the fall semester, according to the newspaper.

Holgorsen disclosed earlier this week that Buie would redshirt for his junior season.

It's also possible Buie could transfer to another school.
