Bethpage, NY (Sports Network) - Notre Dame senior Tyler Eifert has won the John Mackey Award, given annually to the nation's best tight end.

Eifert totaled 44 receptions for 624 yards and four touchdowns, helping the Fighting Irish finish the regular season without a blemish.

Notre Dame's all-time leader in receptions and receiving yards by a tight end, Eifert is not only a deft receiver, but a tremendous blocker as well.

Stanford's Zach Ertz and Washington's Austin Seferian-Jenkins were the other finalists.
