Minneapolis, MN (Sports Network) - Minnesota football coach Jerry Kill was taken off the field on a stretcher Saturday after apparently suffering another seizure.

Players had already headed to the locker room at halftime of the game against Western Illinois and the band played on the field as Kill, who has epilepsy, was down on the sideline.

The school said it would provide an update on Kill's condition when one was available.

Gophers defensive coordinator Tracy Claeys stepped in as acting head coach and defensive backs and special teams coach Jay Sawvel took over as the acting head coach on the field.

Kill suffered a seizure in the locker room at halftime of last year's season finale against Michigan State.

Two seasons ago, Kill was carted off the field after having a seizure near the end of a loss to New Mexico State.
