Gainesville, FL (Sports Network) - Florida junior linebacker Jelani Jenkins announced Monday that he will declare for the 2013 NFL Draft.

Jenkins, who will forego his final year of eligibility, played in 36 games while at the University of Florida, registering 182 tackles, six sacks and three interceptions.

"Jelani informed me that he wishes to pursue his dream of playing in the NFL," Florida coach Will Muschamp said. "We wish him the best of luck and encourage him to return to Florida and complete his degree."

Jenkins played in nine games during junior season and made eight starts, despite being hampered with injuries.
