Jonesboro, AR (Sports Network) - Arkansas State will name current Texas offensive coordinator Bryan Harsin as its new head football coach.

Harsin is expected to be named the new coach at a 2:00 p.m. (ET) press conference on Wednesday, according to a report by AStateNation.com.

Harsin was hired as Texas' offensive coordinator in 2011 after spending his previous 10 seasons on the Boise State coaching staff -- the last five as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.

Former head coach Gus Malzahm took the Auburn job after just a year with the school. He led the Red Wolves to a 9-3 record and a Sun Belt conference title this season.
