Recap: Georgia State vs. South Alabama

Atlanta, GA (SportsNetwork.com) - R.J. Hunter was one of three players for Georgia State to score at least 20 points, as the Panthers rolled over the South Alabama Jaguars 85-65 in a Sun Belt Conference tilt at GSU Sports Arena.

Hunter finished with 24 points and Manny Atkins and Ryan Harrow each tallied 20 for Georgia State (16-6, 9-0 Sun Belt), which has won 13 straight. Curtis Washington contributed 10 points and seven rebounds.

Antoine Allen netted 19 points for South Alabama (7-15, 1-8), which has lost four straight and 10 of its last 11. Augustine Rubit tacked on 16 points and Ken Williams chipped in 10.

South Alabama shot an impressive 57.9 percent from the floor in the first half. However, it was nowhere near enough to keep up with Georgia State, which connected on 65.2 percent from the field, including 8-of-11 from beyond the arc, to claim a 41-25 edge at halftime.

The Panthers closed out the game by drilling 60.9 percent from the field and 14-of-15 at the free-throw line in the final 20 minutes.

The two teams combined for only 45 rebounds. Georgia State outscored the Jaguars 19-11 off of turnovers.
