Recap: Delaware vs. Hofstra

Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Davon Usher led all scorers with 28 points, and the top-seeded Delaware Blue Hens notched an 87-76 win over the No. 8 seed Hofstra Pride in the quarterfinals of the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament at Baltimore Arena.

Jarvis Threatt was next in line with 22 points for the Blue Hens (23-9), who advance to play No. 5 seed Northeastern in Sunday's semifinal round. Devon Saddler added 15 points in the win, while Kyle Anderson scored 12.

Zeke Upshaw led the way with 23 points for the Pride (10-23), who were coming off a first-round win over UNC Wilmington on Friday night. Dion Nesmith contributed 16 points, and Stephen Nwaukoni recorded a double-double off the bench with 13 points and 15 rebounds.

Hofstra got off to a quick start and led by as many as nine midway through the opening frame. The Pride eventually went into the locker room with a 40-37 halftime lead after holding UD to 38.7-percent shooting in the first half.

However, the Blue Hens rallied in the second stanza behind a 64-percent effort from the field and a 20-of-25 showing at the foul line. Threatt was instrumental in that rally, as he scored 18 of his 22 points in the second half while going 6-of-7 from the floor.

UD, which is the top seed in this tournament for the first time since joining the league, committed only seven turnovers in the game and forced 15.
