Recap: Stony Brook vs. Maine

Albany, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Jameel Warney netted 15 points as the Stony Brook Seawolves ran over the Maine Black Bears 80-54 in the opening round of the America East Tournament at SEFCU Arena.

Carson Puriefoy chipped in 14 points and Dave Coley had 13 for the second- seeded Seawolves (22-9), who will face the winner of the Binghamton/Hartford first round matchup in the semifinals.

Xavier Pollard had 11 points for Maine (6-23) and Troy Knight-Reid tallied 10.

Stony Brook was in control from the beginning, rolling into halftime leading 49-25. The Seawolves sank 48.5 percent from the floor in the opening half and limited the Black Bears to seven total field goals.

After the break Stony Brook cooled to 36.7 percent shooting, but Maine could not capitalize, sinking just 35.7 percent itself.

Stony Brook outscored its opposition 26-8 off of turnovers and 36-18 in the paint.
