Recap: Norfolk State vs. Stillman

Piscataway, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Pendarvis Williams scored a game-high 32 points as the Norfolk State Spartans dismissed the Tigers of Stillman, 105-83, as part of the NIT Season Tip-Off.

Williams shot 12-of-15 from the field and also accounted for seven rebounds and five assists for the Spartans (5-2) as they picked up their third straight win. Brandon Goode not only registered a double-double with 22 points and a game-high 11 rebounds, he also blocked six shots for NSU. Riley Maye and Malcolm Hawkins contributed 14 and 10 points, respectively.

The Tigers (1-4) were paced by Daniel Bryant who tallied 25 points off the bench, thanks to 5-of-11 shooting behind the 3-point line, followed by Justin Harris with 24 points and Markeith Madison with 10 before fouling out.

The Spartans scored the first points of the meeting and never looked back, shooting 60.0 percent from the floor and a perfect 9-of-9 at the free-throw line, en route to a 46-30 advantage at the break.

In the second half the accuracy from the field increased to 63.9 percent for Norfolk State, the squad outscoring Stillman in the paint in the contest, 62-26, on the way to a very comfortable win.

The Spartans were guilty of 15 turnovers, but made up for those miscues by owning a 45-26 advantage on the glass.
