Recap: UNC-Wilmington vs. Drexel

Wilmington, NC (SportsNetwork.com) - Frantz Massenat registered a game-high 30 points and eight assists, as the Drexel Dragons took down the UNC Wilmington Seahawks, 79-63, in a Colonial Athletic Association contest at Trask Coliseum.

Freddie Wilson chipped in with 16 points off the bench for the Dragons (10-7, 2-2 CAA), while Chris Fouch tallied 14 points and a pair of steals in the win.

Craig Ponder came off the bench to score a team-high 16 points behind 7-of-9 shooting from the floor for the Seahawks (6-14, 0-5), who suffered their seventh consecutive loss. Chris Dixon and Cedrick Williams rounded out the double-digit scorers with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The Seahawks had the hot hand in the early going, as they shot a blistering 59.3 percent from the floor in the first half and took a 40-27 lead into the break.

However, Drexel came alive after halftime and shot 66.7 percent from the floor and made 16-of-18 free throws, while UNCW cooled off and made only seven field goals over the final 20 minutes (28 percent). The Seahawks were outscored by a 52-23 margin in the second half as they shot just 1-of-9 from beyond the arc and converted only 8-of-16 free-throw attempts.

UNCW managed only two fast-break points for the game.
