Recap: Oakland vs. Youngstown St

Rochester, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Kahlil Felder logged 19 points and 12 rebounds and drained a pair of free throws in the waning seconds to lift the Oakland Golden Grizzlies to an 86-85 victory over the Youngstown State Penguins in Horizon League action at the Athletics Center O'rena.

Travis Bader paced all scorers with 26 points for Oakland (9-14, 4-4 Horizon), winners of back-to-back games. Corey Petros had a double-double for the hosts with 15 points and 10 rebounds.

All five starters scored in double figures for YSU (13-10, 4-4), led by 20 points from Ryan Weber. Kamren Belin and Kendrick Perry netted 18 and 17 points, respectively, Bobby Hain registered 14 points and 10 rebounds and DJ Cole poured in 10 points and handed out nine assists.

Oakland shot 46.9 percent from the field in the first half, but YSU was even better at 58.6 percent, as the Penguins took a 47-39 lead into intermission.

YSU led by 11 with under 14 minutes to play before the Grizzlies ripped off a 28-9 run to take an eight-point lead with just over five minutes remaining. The Penguins climbed back, however, thanks to a 7-0 run of their own, and trailing by one with nine seconds left, Perry had a 2-of-2 trip to the line to give them a one-point cushion. Felder was fouled on the other end and drained two clutch free throws to give the Grizzlies the lead back, and they held on for the thrilling victory after Perry missed a last-second 3-pointer.

Although it was outrebounded, 37-31, Oakland outscored the Penguins in the paint, 40-24.
