Recap: Valparaiso vs. Milwaukee

Valparaiso, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - LaVonte Dority scored 27 points, shooting 5-of-10 behind the 3-point line, as the Crusaders of Valparaiso posted a 75-62 win over the Milwaukee Panthers in Horizon League action at the ARC.

Also scoring in double figures for the Crusaders (11-9, 3-2 HL), as they won their second straight outing, were Lexus Williams and Keith Carter with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Although he played just 17 minutes and scored four points, Moussa Gueye made a huge impact with 12 rebounds for the hosts.

Matt Tiby tallied 22 points and cleared eight boards for the Panthers (13-7, 3-3), while Jordan Aaron tacked on 13 points as the only other player in double figures for a team that has dropped two of the last three outings.

Dority exploded for 19 points in the first half, hitting all but three of his 10 field goal attempts, as the Crusaders shot an impressive 57.1 percent from the floor, en route to a 40-30 advantage. Milwaukee knocked down a mere 4- of-15 beyond the arc through the first 20 minutes of action.

The Panthers continued to struggle on the perimeter after intermission, hitting on just 2-of-16 opportunities, a mere 29.0 percent from the field overall in the period, as Valpo cruised to the win.

The Crusaders, who converted just 7-of-25 from the field in the second half, overcame 15 turnovers by generating a 47-30 advantage on the glass.
