Recap: Milwaukee vs. Youngstown St

Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Aaron knocked down 27 points for the Milwaukee Panthers, who bested the Youngstown State Penguins, 82-76, at U.S. Cellular Arena to open up Horizon League action.

Aaron shot 9-of-15 from the field, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range for the Panthers (11-4, 1-0 HL). Kyle Kelm notched a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds. Steve McWhorter and Matt Tiby contributed 17 and 11 points, respectively.

Kendrick Perry recorded a game-high 31 points for the Penguins (9-7, 0-1), shooting 11-of-21 from the floor and 7-of-9 at the free-throw line. Ryan Weber (14 points), Bobby Hain (10) and Kamren Belin (10) also reached double figures.

Both teams sank 12 shots from the field in the first half, but the Panthers established a dominant perimeter game, hitting 6-of-11 from beyond the arc to just 1-of-10 on the Penguins' end. Milwaukee claimed a 39-29 lead heading into halftime.

The game remained tight through the second half, with both teams shooting 48 percent from the floor. The Panthers, however, had the advantage at the line, where they made 16-of-21 to the Penguins' 10-of-16. Despite a late surge, the Penguins could not cut the lead to less than five points in the final two minutes.

The Panthers made 25-of-31 free-throw attempts, while the Penguins were just 14-of-20. The Penguins were also outrebounded, 40-31.
