Recap: Rider vs. Siena
Lawrenceville, NJ (SportsNetwork.com) - Lavon Long scored 16 points and pulled down nine rebounds as the Siena Saints captured a 69-60 win over the Rider Broncs in Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference action at Alumni Gym.
Marquis Wright and Maurice White also scored in double figures for the Saints (13-16, 9-9 MAAC) as they tallied 14 and 10 points, respectively, in the team's second straight win. Brett Bisping pitched in with eight points, 11 rebounds and four blocked shots.
The Broncs (13-14, 9-9) were led by Jimmie Taylor who tallied 15 points, followed by Daniel Stewart with 12 and eight boards as the team lost for the fifth time in six outings.
Rider, which shot 1-of-8 behind the 3-point line and 5-of-10 at the charity stripe in the first half, led by as many as six points in the period before slipping out to a 28-24 advantage at the break. The Saints converted a total of only nine field goals through the first 20 minutes.
In the second half the Broncs fell to only 25.8 percent from the floor, compared to 52.0 percent for the visitors, Siena also hitting on an impressive 19-of-25 at the free-throw line in order to take the win.
The hosts were beaten on the glass, 46-35, and shot a mere 4-of-22 out on the perimeter.Game Notes
