Recap: James Madison vs. Northeastern

Harrisonburg, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Scott Eatherton had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, as the Northeastern Huskies narrowly defeated the James Madison Dukes, 56-52, in a Colonial Athletic Association tilt at the JMU Convocation Center.

Demetrius Pollard and David Walker each registered 12 points for the Huskies (5-13, 2-2 CAA).

Andre Nation led the Dukes (6-12, 1-3) with 16 points and five rebounds. Charles Cooke added 14 points. James Madison has lost three consecutive games.

Northeastern drained 56.5 percent of its shots from the floor in the first period and took a 33-23 lead into the break. James Madison shot a poor 32.1 percent from the field, including 1-of-10 from beyond the arc.

The Huskies converted on just 33.3 percent of their field goal tries in the second half, but it proved to be enough to lead them to victory as they held the advantage for the entire second stanza. The Dukes made 43.5 percent of their field goal attempts and got within one point of the lead with 2:11 to go, but they could never gain control.

Despite losing, James Madison did a better job of putting back its own misses, as it outscored Northeastern 11-3 in second-chance points.
