Recap: Oakland vs. Green Bay

Rochester, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Alec Brown scored a game-high 18 points as the Green Bay Phoenix used a strong second half to down the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, 71-63, in a Horizon League tilt at the Athletics Center O'rena.

Jordan Fouse and Keifer Sykes scored 16 points each for Green Bay (23-5, 13-2 HL), while Alfonzo McKinnie provided a spark off the bench with 10 points. Sykes also dealt out six assists and Fouse pulled down nine boards.

Duke Mondy paced the Golden Grizzlies (11-19, 6-9) with 17 points and six steals, but also committed eight of the team's 18 turnovers. Corey Petros posted 14 points and eight rebounds. Travis Bader, who is the NCAA Division I's all-time leading 3-point shooter, finished with only six points after going 1-of-9 from beyond the arc.

Although Bader had a forgettable performance, Oakland managed to connect on 56.7 percent of its field goal attempts, including 5-of-9 from beyond the arc in the first half. The Phoenix went into the intermission trailing, 44-31, after they attempted eight less shots from the floor in the first half.

Green Bay went on a 24-6 run to claim a 58-54 lead by the 9:25 mark of the second stanza. The Golden Grizzlies were limited to 33.3 percent efficiency from the floor and went just 1-of-12 from 3-point range over the final 20 minutes of the contest.

The Phoenix enjoyed a 29-25 edge in the rebounding battle and assisted 19 of their 28 made field goal attempts. Oakland was outscored, 40-34, in the paint.
