Recap: Milwaukee vs. Detroit

Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Juwan Howard Jr. scored 24 points as the Detroit Titans easily handled the Milwaukee Panthers, 73-54, in Horizon League play at U.S. Cellular Arena.

Howard connected on 11-of-23 shooting from the floor, and added eight rebounds for Detroit (9-12, 2-4 Horizon). Jarod Williams netted 16 points, and Matthew Grant chipped in 12 with six rebounds in the win. The Titans snapped a four- game losing streak with the victory.

Steve McWhorter, Jordan Aaron and J.J. Panoske paced Milwaukee (13-9, 3-5) with nine points each. McWhorter added five rebounds and five steals to his stat line, while Panoske grabbed six rebounds. The Panthers have lost three consecutive games.

Detroit shot 40.6 percent in the first half, and took a 38-28 lead into halftime. Milwaukee only connected on 34.8 percent of its shots in the first period.

The Titans shot a nearly identical 40 percent from the floor, and connected on 10-of-11 from the free-throw line in the second frame. Milwaukee's shooting percentage took a tumble down to 28.6 percent in the half, including a dismal 1-of-14 from 3-point range.

Detroit forced 18 Milwaukee turnovers that led directly to 17 points, and had the edge over the Panthers in points in the paint, 34-24.
