Recap: Manhattan vs. Siena

Riverdale, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Michael Alvarado had 21 points, five assists and seven steals as the Manhattan Jaspers routed the Siena Saints, 90-68, in a Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference matchup at Draddy Gymnasium.

Shane Richards scored 15 points for the Jaspers (13-3, 6-1 MAAC), who have won 10 of their last 11 contests. Rhamel Brown added 13 points and three blocks while Donovan Kates chipped in 10 points.

Rob Poole registered a double-double for the Saints (7-11, 3-4) with 13 points and 11 boards. Ryan Oliver and Marquis Wright each had 11 points, with Wright adding five assists with five turnovers. Brett Bisping logged 10 points. Siena has lost two in a row.

The Jaspers shot 46.9 percent from the floor, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range in the first half as they took a 43-34 lead into the break. The Saints made 40 percent of their field goal tries.

Manhattan made 38.5 percent of its field goal attempts in the second period, but converted on 23-of-29 from the free-throw line. With 6:01 left, Manhattan went on a 13-0 run to increase the lead to 23 points.

Despite the loss, Siena outrebounded the Jaspers, 44-33. Manhattan forced 23 Siena turnovers and won the battle in points off turnovers, 39-11.
