Recap: South Dakota vs. IUPUI

Vermillion, SD (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by a game-high 21 points from Brandon Bos, the South Dakota Coyotes defeated the IUPUI Jaguars, 69-57, in Summit League action at the DakotaDome.

For the Coyotes (7-9, 2-0 Summit), Trevor Gruis added 18 points to help his team collect its fourth consecutive victory.

Khufu Najee led the Jaguars (5-15, 0-3) with 12 points and Donovan Gibbs finished with 11 points.

IUPUI shot 50 percent from the field and 3-of-4 from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes en route to a 33-32 halftime lead. USD made 44.4 percent of its field goal tries in the half and knocked down 5-of-11 tries from 3-point range.

After halftime, the Coyotes hit on 46.2 percent of their shots from the floor and held the Jaguars to just 29.2 percent shooting, including only a 2-of-11 clip from 3-point range. Trailing by two, 49-47, midway through the second half, the Coyotes ran off seven-straight points to take a lead they would never give up, as they held on for the victory.

USD outscored IUPUI in the paint 26-18,. The Coyotes also had the advantage on the boards, outrebounding the Jaguars, 33-28.
