Recap: Nebraska Omaha vs. Denver

Omaha, NE (SportsNetwork.com) - Bryant Rucker scored 19 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Denver Pioneers captured a 74-60 win over the Mavericks of Nebraska-Omaha in Summit League action at Ralston Arena.

Marcus Byrd, who matched Rucker on the perimeter with 4-of-5 shooting behind the 3-point line, added 16 points off the bench, followed by Brett Olson and Cam Griffin with 15 and 13 points, respectively, for the Pioneers (9-10, 2-2 Summit) as they delivered a second win in as many tries.

The Mavericks (11-8, 1-3), losers of four of the last five, were paced by John Karhoff with 18 points and five assists, one of only two players on the team to convert more than just a pair of field goals.

Omaha made good on a solid 50 percent from the field in the first half, but at the same time the Pioneers were a staggering 72.0 percent accurate from the floor, including 6-of-10 beyond the arc, en route to the 44-32 advantage at the break.

In the second half Denver cooled off a bit, but still the visitors connected on 52.2 percent from the field in order to cruise to the double-digit win.

The Mavericks finished the night with just 4-of-15 shooting beyond the arc and a total of 20 rebounds.
