Recap: San Francisco vs. Pacific

San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Cole Dickerson registered a double- double with 14 points and a game-high 13 rebounds as the San Francisco Dons slipped by the Pacific Tigers, 64-59, in West Coast Conference action at War Memorial Gym.

Avry Holmes was responsible for a team-best 15 points for the Dons (18-10, 11-5 WCC), followed by Mark Tollefsen with 11 points as USF posted a third straight victory.

The Tigers (14-13, 5-11) were led by Trevin Harris and Sama Taku with 15 and 14 points, respectively, as the team bowed for the third time in as many outings.

Pacific knocked down just 9-of-29 shots from the floor in the first half, including a dismal 1-of-9 behind the 3-point line, sending the Tigers to a 33-21 deficit at the break. The difference after 20 minutes could have easily been greater, but USF converted only 2-of-9 beyond the arc and 5-of-13 at the free-throw line in the frame.

In the second half the visitors fought back with 50.0 percent shooting and actually led by two with just over eight minutes remaining in regulation, but a 12-of-16 effort by the Dons at the free-throw line was took much to overcome.

The game featured 11 ties and 10 lead changes and favored the hosts as they outscored the Tigers at the charity stripe, 17-7, in order to overcome a dismal 3-of-17 showing behind the 3-point line.
