Recap: Pacific vs. Loyola Marymount

Stockton, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Evan Payne scored 25 points for the Loyola Marymount Lions as they defeated the Pacific Tigers 92-81 in a West Coast Conference showdown at the Alex G. Spanos Center.

Anthony Ireland registered 24 points and eight assists, while CJ Blackwell had 17 points for the Lions (11-10, 3-6 WCC), who snapped a six-game losing streak. Gabe Levin tallied a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds to go with five blocks.

Ross Rivera logged 16 points for the Tigers (10-8, 1-6), who have lost six of their last seven games. Tony Gill added 13 points while Sama Taku and Trevin Harris also scored in double digits with 12 and 10 points, respectively. Khalil Kelley cleared 10 rebounds.

Pacific shot 30 percent from the floor, including 4-of-12 from beyond the arc in the first half and LMU made 34.5 percent of its field goal tries. The teams were tied 32-32 at the break.

The Lions drained 60.7 percent of their shots in the second stanza including 5-of-5 from 3-point range. With 12:12 left LMU went on a 28-7 run to create some distance and pull out the win.

Despite losing, the Tigers held a 45-34 rebounding advantage.
