Recap: Ohio vs. Valparaiso

Athens, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Maurice Ndour posted up 23 points, helping the Ohio University Bobcats overcome the Valparaiso Crusaders, 76-72, at the Convocation Center.

Ndour shot 9-of-13 from the field and also recorded six rebounds, five blocked shots and four steals for the Bobcats (2-1). Nick Kellogg contributed 16 points, including four 3-pointers. Ricardo Johnson and T.J. Hall both added 11 points.

Alec Peters notched a double-double for the Crusaders (2-2) with 16 points and 13 rebounds. LaVonte Dority scored 20 points and Jordan Coleman shot 9-of-10 at the free-throw line to add to his 11 points.

Valpo turned the ball over 13 times and made only one-third of its field goal attempts in the first half, going into halftime down 40-28.

The Crusaders capitalized on 17-of-21 free throw attempts, including two makes with 2:18 left by Coleman to put them up 72-70. They were the last points of the day for the visitors, however, as they allowed the Bobcats to pull ahead for the late win.

The Bobcats edged out Valpo in a few key categories, including points in the paint (32-26), points off turnovers (25-13) and fast break points (13-6), and improved to 2-0 at home to start the season.
