Georgia Southern (9-11) at Davidson (9-11)

GAME NOTES: Davidson's subpar showing in non-conference games is suddenly a distant memory, and the Wildcats hope to maintain their recent success in Southern Conference play when they host Georgia Southern on Saturday.

Davidson has won five of its first six league games following an uncharacteristically slow 3-10 start to the season. The latest victory was an 82-77 road win over a tough Western Carolina club on Thursday.

Chris Czerapowicz scored 19 points, while Tyler Kalinoski scored 15 with a game- high nine rebounds in the victory. De'Mon Brooks eclipsed the 1,500- point mark during the victory and contributed 12 points on 4-of-4 shooting from the field.

The Wildcats shot an impressive 10-of-17 from 3-point range, something they have excelled at recently against SoCon foes, connecting on 43.7 percent from long range.

Brooks has picked up his game tremendously in conference play, as he's pouring in 21.5 ppg over six SoCon games to up his season average to 17.4 ppg while also pulling down 7.1 rpg throughout the season. Brian Sullivan (12.1 ppg) sits second in scoring, while Tom Droney and Kalinoski average just over 11 ppg.

With losses in three of its last four games, Georgia Southern is looking to get back on track, especially following a 74-64 home loss to Wofford on Thursday.

Jelani Hewitt scored 18 points to lead the Eagles, while Tre Bussey and Angel Matias both contributed 13 points, with the batter bringing in nine rebounds. The Eagles struggled to get their offense going in the first half, shooting just 30.4 percent from the field and hitting only seven field goals. They turned it around offensively after the break, but the deficit was too much to overcome.

Hewitt and Bussey both eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau in their careers in the loss. Hewitt currently tops the conference in scoring with 20.6 ppg. A 37.1-percent shooter from beyond the arc (53-of-143), he also averages 5.1 rebounds. Bussey (17.6 ppg) and Brian Holmes (10.3 ppg) have combined to shoot a healthy 40.8 percent from the perimeter (73-of-179).

Davidson has lost only once at home to Georgia Southern and has taken 13 of the last 14 meetings -- the lone loss coming last season. With the way the Wildcats are playing, it's easy to see those trends continuing.

GAME NOTES: Davidson's subpar showing in non-conference games is suddenly a distant memory, and the Wildcats hope to maintain their recent success in Southern Conference play when they host Georgia Southern on Saturday.
