Recap: Eastern Mich vs. Kent State

Ypsilanti, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Raven Lee and Darell Combs shared game- high honors with 15 points apiece, as the Eastern Michigan Eagles rolled to a 70-53 win over the Kent State Golden Flashes in Mid-American Conference play at the Convocation Center.

Karrington Ward added 10 points to help the Eagles (13-10, 5-5 MAC) end a 17- game losing streak in the head-to-head series, a stretch that dated back to 1998.

Darren Goodson and Derek Jackson both scored 11 points to lead the Golden Flashes (12-11, 3-7), who have dropped six of their last seven.

EMU shot a healthy 56 percent from the floor in the first half and took a 35-25 lead into the break, as Kent State failed to score during a seven-minute stretch.

The Eagles cooled off in the second stanza and shot just 31.8 percent from the floor. However, they held Kent State to 26.7-percent shooting and also made 20-of-27 free throws after halftime as they won handily.

EMU got solid production from its bench as the Eagles reserves outscored the Golden Flashes reserves, 29-13.
