Recap: St Bonaventure vs. Canisius

Olean, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Matthew Wright scored a game-high 27 points as the St. Bonaventure Bonnies claimed an 86-64 victory over the Canisius Golden Griffins in a non-conference bout at the Reilly Center.

Charlon Kloof added 15 points and Youssou Ndoye posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds for St. Bonaventure (3-0).

Billy Baron scored 23 points and Chris Perez chipped in 13 for Canisius (1-1).

Wright scored 15 points in the first period and the Bonnies shot 45.2 percent from the field to take a 42-35 lead into the break. Baron kept pace with Wright, netting 16 in the period, but the Golden Griffins were not as successful from the floor, hitting just 41.9 percent.

After the break the Bonnies heated up to 64.5 percent shooting while Canisius cooled to 35.5 percent. Wright scored 12 points in the period to carry the Bonnies to the easy victory.

St. Bonaventure enjoyed a 44-25 advantage on the boards and a 56-30 edge on points in the paint.
