Recap: Central Mich vs. Buffalo

Mount Pleasant, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Javon McCrea notched a double-double with 25 points and a career-best 20 rebounds as the Buffalo Bulls knocked off the Central Michigan Chippewas, 79-70, in a Mid-American Conference clash at McGuirk Arena.

Shannon Evans netted 19 points for the Bulls (13-7, 7-3 MAC), who have won four of their last five games. Jarod Oldham and Joshua Freelove added 11 and 10 points, respectively.

Blake Hibbitts and Chris Fowler each contributed 17 points for the Chippewas (8-14, 1-9), who have lost nine of their last 10. Austin Stewart logged another 15 points.

In the first half the Bulls shot 51.6 percent from the field, slightly better than their opponent's 50 percent and they went into halftime up 39-36.

The Bulls kept up the pressure in the latter half, shooting 52 percent from the floor, while the Chippewas dipped to just 34.3 percent. Buffalo also sank 12-of-15 at the free-throw line, leading by as many as 18 points, with 7:45 left to play.

Buffalo outscored the hosts 42-24 in the paint and held a 40-27 rebounding edge thanks to the efforts of McCrea.
