Recap: Drexel vs. Buffalo

Philadelphia, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Javon McCrea netted a game-high 20 points as the Buffalo Bulls defeated the Drexel Dragons, 55-52, in a non- conference battle at the Daskalakis Athletic Center.

McCrea also pulled down nine rebounds for the Bulls (6-4) as they notched their fifth consecutive victory. Will Regan grabbed 10 boards while Jarod Oldham dealt out eight assists.

Tavon Allen paced Drexel (8-4) with 14 points on 6-of-15 shooting from the floor. Chris Fouch scored 13 points, Frantz Mazzenat chipped in 10 points and Dartaye Ruffin corralled 12 rebounds. Fouch and Mazzenat combined to go 0- of-11 from beyond the arc.

Despite shooting just 28.6 percent from the field in the opening 20 minutes of play, the Dragons managed to take a 24-20 lead into halftime. Buffalo trailed at the break after it connected on only 1-of-9 attempts from behind the 3- point line.

The Bulls heated up to shoot 46.7 percent from the field including a 3-of-7 clip from beyond the arc in the second period. Drexel let its lead slip away as it missed all seven of its 3-point field goal attempts after halftime.

Buffalo used strong interior play to earn the road win as it outrebounded Drexel, 46-40, and outscored the hosts, 28-24, in the paint.
