Recap: Niagara vs. Buffalo

Niagara, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Antoine Mason scored 25 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Niagara Purple Eagles captured a 92-81 win over the Buffalo Bulls in non-conference action at the Gallagher Center.

Ramone Snowden and Tahjere McCall both posted 15 points and eight rebounds for the Purple Eagles (1-1), followed by Marcus Ware who dropped in 11 points before fouling out.

The Bulls (0-2) were paced by Javon McCrea who put together a huge double- double with 31 points and 14 rebounds, shooting an impressive 13-of-16 at the free-throw line. Joshua Freelove tacked on 15 points and Xavier Ford 10 in the losing cause.

Buffalo managed to produced a three-point advantage early in the first half, but the team shot only 35.3 percent from the field in the period, allowing the hosts to move out to a 47-33 lead at the break.

After shooting 13-of-15 at the charity stripe through the first 20 minutes of action, Niagara then converted 16-of-25 at the stripe as the team held on for the victory.

The Purple Eagles survived despite suffering 16 turnovers and shooting only 3- of-11 behind the 3-point line.
