Recap: Green Bay vs. Tenn Tech

Green Bay, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Keifer Sykes scored 17 points in helping the Green Bay Phoenix rout the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles, 76-49, in non- conference action at the Resch Center.

Also scoring in double figures for Green Bay (7-3) were Vince Garrett and Alec Brown with 16 and 15 points, respectively, the latter adding six rebounds and four blocked shots for the Phoenix who have now won two straight and four of their last five outings overall.

The Golden Eagles (6-7) failed to have a single player score in double figures, with reserve Anthony Morse coming closest with nine points in 14 minutes of action off the bench. Tennessee Tech has dropped three of its last four contests.

The visitors led by four late in the first half, but the team lost momentum and fell behind by six at the break, 34-28, even after both programs shot only 1-of-6 behind the 3-point line.

The surge continued into the second half for the Phoenix as they used an astounding 38-3 run to take control and cruise to the victory. While the hosts connected on 60.9 percent from the field over the final 20 minutes, Tech converted a mere 7-of-34 (.206), and missed all 10 attempts beyond the arc.

The Golden Eagles finished the night with more turnovers (22) than it had field goals (19).
