Recap: Boston Univ vs. Loyola-Maryland

Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Maurice Watson Jr. scored a game-high 19 points and handed out six assists off the bench as the Boston University Terriers captured a 72-58 win over the Greyhounds of Loyola-Maryland in Patriot League play at Agganis Arena.

Also scoring in double figures for the Terriers (13-6, 6-0 PL) were D.J. Irving and John Papale who tallied 14 and 13 points, respectively, in the team's sixth straight win and the seventh in eight tries.

The Greyhounds (8-9, 3-3) were paced by Dylon Cormier with 14 points on 5-of-8 shooting from the floor, but he fell far below his season average of 22.6 ppg as the squad had a two-game win streak come to an end. Eric Laster pitched in with 13 points as he converted 3-of-5 behind the 3-point line.

The visitors led by as many as nine points midway through the first half, but the Greyhounds made a total of just 10 field goals in the period, leaving them with a 32-27 deficit at the break.

In the second half Boston University pulled away on the strength of 53.6 percent shooting from the floor, not to mention a defense that limited Loyola to just 9-of-27 from the field.

The Terriers took care of business in the paint where they owned a 32-22 scoring edge.
