Recap: Bowling Green vs. IUPU-Ft Wayne

Bowling Green, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Steve Forbes scored 15 points and swiped four steals to lift the IUPU-Fort Wayne Mastodons to a 65-60 victory over the Bowling Green Falcons in non-conference action at the Stroh Center.

Luis Jacobo also played a big role for IPFW (11-5) with 13 points and six rebounds. Mo Evans came off the bench to score 11 points.

Richaun Holmes and Jehvon Clarke tallied 16 points each for BGSU (6-7). Holmes also pulled down nine rebounds and Cameron Black accounted for 11 boards. Spencer Parker contributed 15 points and six rebounds, but was also responsible for six of the Falcons' 19 turnovers.

The Mastodons used a strong outside shooting performance to take control in the first half. IPFW knocked down 5-of-12 attempts from beyond the arc and converted 9-of-23 tries at the charity stripe in the opening 20 minutes to build a 34-21 lead by the break. The Falcons were limited to just 1-of-9 shooting from behind the 3-point line before halftime.

BGSU hit on 57.1 percent of its field goal tries and converted 6-of-7 at the free-throw line in the second half to battle back. The Mastodons stayed in front for the entire period despite going only 9-of-23 at the charity stripe.

IPFW's bench outscored the Falcons' reserves, 20-6, in the contest.
