Recap: Duquesne vs. Richmond

Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Led by 20 points from Kendall Anthony, the Richmond Spiders downed the Duquesne Dukes, 75-58, in Atlantic 10 action at the A.J. Palumbo Center.

For the Spiders (16-8, 6-3 A-10), ShawnDre' Jones added 13 points, Terry Allen finished with 12 points and Alonzo Nelson-Ododa scored 10.

Ovie Soko led the Dukes (10-13, 2-8) with a game-high 21 points, while Micah Mason chipped in with 15 points and six assists.

Richmond shot the ball well to open the contest, connecting on 48.3 percent from the field in the first half, including 7-of-15 from beyond the arc. The Spiders opened the game on a 17-3 run and took a 39-27 lead into intermission. Duquesne made just 38.5 percent of its field goal tries in the first, missing all but two of its 10 3-point tries.

In the second half, Richmond cooled off a bit, making 42.1 percent of its shots from the field and just 1-of-6 from 3-point range, but the Spiders were able to close out the game by outscoring the Dukes 19-3 from the free-throw line after halftime.

Richmond forced nine Duquesne turnovers and converted them into 15 points. The Dukes did outscored the Spiders in the paint, 30-24, and won the rebounding battle, 37-33.
