Recap: IUPU-Ft Wayne vs. Eastern Ky

Fort Wayne, IN (SportsNetwork.com) - Marcus Lewis scored a team-high 17 points as the Eastern Kentucky Colonels coasted to a 90-68 decision over the IUPU- Fort Wayne Mastodons in a non-conference tilt at the Gates Sports Center.

Eric Stutz contributed 16 points and nine rebounds for EKU (9-4) as it picked up its second consecutive win. Corey Walden added 11 points, Orlando Williams scored 12 points and Glenn Cosey accompanied his five assists with 10 points.

Mo Evans paced IPFW (10-5) with 13 points. Joe Edwards and Isaiah McCray scored 12 and 10 points, respectively.

EKU took a 46-35 lead into the intermission after it knocked down 61.3 percent of its field goal attempts including 5-of-10 from beyond the arc in the opening 20 minutes of action. The Mastodons trailed by double-digits at the break despite converting 15-of-18 free-throw attempts in the first half.

IPFW failed to rally back in the second stanza despite shooting 47.8 percent from the floor. The Colonels hit on 6-of-11 tries from behind the 3-point line after halftime to extend their lead to as many as 26.

EKU dominated on the interior as it outscored IPFW, 52-30, in the paint and enjoyed a 32-26 edge in the rebounding battle.
