Pittsburgh, PA (SportsNetwork.com) - Ovie Soko scored a game-high 22 points and had eight rebounds as he guided the Duquesne Dukes to a decisive 79-55 victory over the Appalachian State Mountaineers in a non-conference game at the A.J. Palumbo Center.

Tra'Vaughn White scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds in 19 minutes of action for the Dukes (7-5). Dominique McKoy scored 10 and had six rebounds to contribute to Duquesne's 52-33 overall rebounding edge for the game.

For the Mountaineers (4-9), Tab Hamilton led the way with 18 points while Chris Burgess and Jay Canty scored 12 points apiece. Michael Obacha and Tommy Spagnolo were the only Mountaineers to hit over half their field goal attempts, but both shot just 2-of-3 for the game. They did get the bulk of the teams rebounds as well, with Spagnolo grabbing 10 and Obacha seven.

The first half ended with the Dukes in clear control, holding a 49-24 advantage. The Dukes shot 48.5 percent from the field compared to just 29.4 percent for the Mountaineers in the opening period. Duquesne also took 16 free-throws compared to just one by its opposition.

The Mountaineers won the second half, 31-30, but never really threatened to retake the lead despite the Dukes clearing their bench and playing 11 players at least four minutes.

The Dukes bench outscored the Mountaineers' reserves, 32-7.
