Recap: Dayton vs. Massachusetts

Dayton, OH (SportsNetwork.com) - Jordan Sibert knocked down 4-of-7 3-pointers and led all scorers with 23 points, as the Dayton Flyers notched an 86-79 win over the Massachusetts Minutemen in an Atlantic 10 Conference tussle at UD Arena.

Dyshawn Pierre added 16 points and Vee Sanford scored 15 off the bench to help the Flyers (20-9, 8-6 A-10) get back into the win column after having a six- game win streak snapped in blowout fashion at Saint Joseph's earlier this week. Devin Oliver finished with 11 points and a game-high nine rebounds.

Reserve Trey Davis led the way with 19 points for the Minutemen (22-6, 9-5), who lost for the first time in their last four games. Chaz Williams and Derrick Gordon rounded out the double-figure scorers with 17 and 15 points, respectively.

UMass shot a healthy 53.6 percent from the floor in the first half and led by as many as seven, but the Minutemen went into the locker room with only a 37-36 advantage.

Dayton opened the second half with back-to-back 3-pointers by Sibert and Khari Price as part of a 9-0 spurt. The Flyers went on to shoot 56 percent from the floor over the final 20 minutes and led by as many as 12.

UD connected on 9-of-20 threes (.450) for the game as it reached 20 wins for the 10th time since 2000.
