Recap: Holy Cross vs. Belmont

Uncasville, CT (SportsNetwork.com) - Craig Bradshaw scored 21 points to lead the Belmont Bruins to an 81-70 victory over the Holy Cross Crusaders as part of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip Off Tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena.

Reece Chamberlain added 17 points, J.J. Mann chimed in with 16 points and Blake Jenkins tallied 12 points to go with eight rebounds for Belmont (5-1). The Bruins will battle Hofstra on Sunday in the Naismith Bracket title game.

Cullen Hamilton paced Holy Cross (2-3) with 16 points. Anthony Thompson and Dave Dudzinski added 15 points each and Malachi Alexander pitched in 10 off the bench. The Crusaders will be paired up with Hartford in the consolation game.

Belmont dominated the first half as the Bruins shot 62.1 percent from the field, nailed six shots from beyond the arc and had 11 more field goals than Holy Cross.

The Crusaders were able to find a rhythm offensively in the second half. They connected on 53.8 percent of their field goal attempts, including a 6-of-12 showing from 3-point range. However the Bruins held them off by netting 50 percent from the floor in the period.

With a 30-23 edge on the boards and a 38-22 advantage on points in the paint, the Bruins were the more successful team on the interior.
