Recap: ULM vs. Texas State

Monroe, LA (SportsNetwork.com) - Joel Wright recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds as the Texas State Bobcats buried the Warhawks of ULM, 61-36, in Sun Belt Conference play at Fant- Ewing Coliseum.

Also scoring 14 points for the Bobcats (5-11, 1-2 Sun Belt) was Wes Davis who knocked down 6-of-9 shots from the floor, while Kavin Tilbury accounted for 10 points for a Texas State program that snapped a three-game slide.

The Warhawks (4-7, 1-2), losers of two straight and six of the last seven, were led by Tylor Ongwae who dropped in 12 points, while Jayon James pitched in with nine points as no one else on the roster made more than a pair of field goals in the outing.

In addition to converting an impressive 56.5 percent from the field in the first half, the Bobcats also connected on all seven of their attempts at the free-throw line, en route to a 35-27 advantage at the break.

The second half saw the hosts score a grand total of just nine points, shooting a dismal 3-of-26 from the floor, including 1-of-10 behind the 3-point line. The Warhawks also hurt themselves with a disappointing 2-of-8 showing at the free-throw line in the frame.

For the game ULM, which scored a season-low 31 in a 40-point loss to nationally-ranked Ohio State two weeks ago, made only 4-of-14 at the charity stripe.
