Recap: Old Dominion vs. Marshall

Norfolk, VA (SportsNetwork.com) - Aaron Bacote scored 22 points and Richard Ross posted a double-double as the Old Dominion Monarchs claimed a 70-63 victory over the Marshall Thundering Herd in a Conference USA clash at the Ted Constant Convocation Center.

Ross tallied 19 points and 10 rebounds and Denzell Taylor ripped down 11 boards for Old Dominion (14-15, 8-6 C-USA).

Kareem Canty netted 24 points and Chris Thomas chipped in 17 for Marshall (9-20, 3-11).

Marshall led, 27-25, after a difficult first half for both teams. The Thundering Herd hit on 37 percent from the floor in the frame, which was just better than the 36 percent effort from Old Dominion.

The Monarchs found their touch after the break, sinking 61.5 percent from the floor in the final 20 minutes to pull away for the win. The Herd shot at a 37 percent clip once again in the period.

Old Dominion outscored Marshall, 39-22, in the paint.
