Recap: Marshall vs. UAB

Huntington, WV (SportsNetwork.com) - Chad Frazier scored 13 points and dealt out eight assists to lift the UAB Blazers to a 68-62 decision over the Marshall Thundering Herd in a Conference USA tilt at the Cam Henderson Center.

Robert Williams and Fahro Alihodzic netted 12 points apiece for UAB (16-10, 5-7 C-USA). C.J. Washington pulled down 10 boards, while Denzell Watts provided a spark off the bench with nine points.

Chris Thomas paced the Thundering Herd (9-18, 3-9) with 22 points. Kareem Canty contributed 17 points, five assists, and three steals, while Ryan Taylor scored 11 points.

Despite being held to 28.6 percent efficiency from the floor in the opening 20 minutes of the contest, the Blazers managed to take a 30-29 lead into the intermission. Marshall missed all 12 of its attempts from beyond the arc in the first half.

The Thundering Herd were limited to makes on 36.4 percent of their shots from the floor in the second stanza. UAB pulled away as it hit on 42.3 percent of its field goal attempts and converted 13-of-22 shots at the charity stripe after the break.

The lead changed hands 13 times in the contest. UAB's bench posted 24 points while the Herd's reserves were held scoreless.
