Recap: FIU vs. Tulsa

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Shaquille Harrison scored 17 points, leading four players in double figures, as the Tulsa Golden Hurricane captured a 77-65 win over the FIU Panthers in a Conference USA battle at U.S. Century Bank Arena.

Joining Harrison in double digits were Tim Peete with 12 points before fouling out and both James Woodard and Brandon Swannegan 11 points, the latter also clearing nine rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench as Tulsa (15-12, 10-3 C- USA) won for the fifth time in as many games.

The Panthers (13-15, 5-8) were paced by Tymell Murphy and his game-high 19 points, followed by Dennis Mavin and Rakeem Buckles with 18 and 10 points, respectively, in the team's third consecutive setback.

Both teams shot below 38.0 percent from the field in the first half, with Tulsa's 8-of-22 effort from the floor and 2-of-8 behind the 3-point line leaving the visitors with a 35-28 deficit at the break.

In the second half it was FIU that could not find the basket, converting just seven attempts, en route to the double-digit setback at home.

The Panthers finished the afternoon with almost as many turnovers (17) as field goals (19). The home team was outscored at the free-throw line, 31-22, and beaten soundly on the glass as well, 46-27.
